Cysteamine Bitartrate

Indications

The drug Cysteamine bitartrate is indicated for use in children (of any age) and adults for the treatment of nephropathic cystinosis.

Contraindications

Do not take the drug Cysteamine bitartrate:

if you are allergic to mercaptamine or any other components of the drug;
if you have ever been allergic to penicillamine;
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Usage

Orally.
Take the drug Cysteamine bitartrate 4 times a day every 6 hours (immediately after meals or during meals — this will reduce the likelihood of adverse reactions from the gastrointestinal tract).
