Important
Indications
Control of pain or bladder discomfort associated with interstitial cystitis
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to sodium pentosan polysulfate or any excipient of the drug, age under 18 years.
Increased risk of bleeding (including that caused by therapy with anticoagulants of coumarin group, heparin, tissue plasminogen activator t-PA, streptokinase, high doses of acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), haemophilia.
Caution
Miropentan should be used with caution in patients with hepatic dysfunction, in patients with aneurysm, thrombocytopenia, gastrointestinal ulcer disease, polyps, diverticulum formation, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Bladder pain syndrome is a diagnosis of exclusion, other urological disorders (such as urinary tract infection or bladder cancer) must be excluded before treatment.
Usage
It is recommended to take Miropentan orally, drinking sufficient water, 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal.
The recommended dose of sodium polysulfate pentosan is 300 mg per day - 1 capsule (100 mg each) 3 times a day.
